On winter equipment of vehicles on State Route 1, 2026–27
Chains or winter tyres compulsory at the Fergana Gateway post from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027; the post may close the road when the avalanche danger is 4 or higher.
On photography at checkpoints and protected installations
Prohibits photographing or filming checkpoints, convoys and protected installations, and sets out how equipment is held and images deleted.
On the Gendarmerie register of fuel tankers
Every fuel tanker on the roads of the Zone is registered with the Gendarmerie and re-registered every year; unregistered tankers are held at the checkpoints.
On the carriage of dangerous goods on State Route 1
Dangerous goods pass the Otmek tunnel only between 22:00 and 05:00, under Highway Patrol escort.
On drug testing of drivers at the checkpoints
Drivers of goods vehicles and passenger minibuses crossing the line may be tested; a driver who refuses is treated as under the influence.
Republican Gendarmerie Act
Gives the Gendarmerie its statutory basis: the protection of the frontiers and the line, of state installations and senior officials, highway policing, and assistance to the city police and district detachments on request. As amended in 2007 and 2009.
